Session One

Commercial rent review methodologies & the application of the various types are often somewhat confusing. Errors & a misunderstanding of these processes can diminish valuable commercial investments & reduce income to the agency.

This workshop is tailored to:

  • Commercial property managers seeking to refresh or expand on their knowledge of commercial property management

  • New commercial property managers commencing their industry learning journey

  • Residential property managers who manage commercial property

  • Investors & financial advisers working with commercial property.

This session will cover the following topics:

  • Understanding rent review methodologies

  • Calculating annual fixed, and CPI (Consumer Price Index) rent reviews

  • Determining rent review adjustments 

  • Understanding the market rent review processes

  • Updating property management systems to include reviewed rent.

Session Two

This session examines leasing methodologies, marketing campaigns & tools, tenant sourcing through commercial property databases, customising premises to meet tenant requirements, conducting inspections, and basic administrative requirements such as forms & templates.

This session looks at the leasing process from negotiation, instruction & documentation to commencement of lease & transitioning a new tenant, including evaluating a commercial property’s potential to deliver a reliable income stream, optimum capital growth & return on investment for the owner.

  • Documenting the lease negotiation process

  • Instructions for lease documentation preparation

  • Fit-out or capital works
