Why, How & When of Commercial Property Inspections

Property management authorities often include agreed services which expand the responsibilities of the commercial property manager. These agreed services should include

entry, routine & other types of property inspections. It is critical for the property manager to understand the importance of commercial property inspections & why, how & when they should be completed.

  • Why it is critical for the property manager to inspect & understand the physical commercial property

  • How are inspections completed – what knowledge or experience is the property manager expected to hold

  • What notice for entry is required? What does the property manager note, report & action?

  • When are property inspections recommended? At what point should the property manager recommend a specialised building consultant or surveyor to complete compliance inspections.

Review the preparation of condition reports – the information they should include, their important role in maintenance & repair responsibilities, vacating & make good responsibilities for the tenant & any potential dispute resolution. In this session, tips include how to set up systems to ensure that inspections are scheduled, reporting to landlords & actions completed.
